Pei Li is a multi-disciplinary artist whose practice, PeiPer, is anchored in preservation; an ongoing pursuit of the fleeting beauty of nature, crafted meticulously with paper and mixed media.
A graduate of Chemistry from the National University of Singapore, Pei Li brings a scientist’s rigour to her practice. She often works directly from nature, studying each specimen in detail to understand its structure, form, and character. Every subject she chooses carries a meaning and intention of its own. Each work involves a dedicated story; a piece of history, personal memory, or the identity of the space it will inhabit. Her installations are on permanent display at the Asian Civilisations Museum and Alexandra Hospital.
Self-taught with over a decade of experience, Pei Li is one of eight artisans selected to give live demonstrations during the opening programme of Homo Faber Biennale 2026 (Venice, Italy); a platform dedicated to craftsmanship. Her work has also been recognised in Prestige Singapore’s Women of Power 2025 and The Peak Power List 2024, and her pieces are held in private collections. At its core, her work is rooted in meticulous observation, and a deep appreciation for nature first nurtured by her mother who filled the corridor of their family home with flowers, fruits, and vegetables.
